Elise Jones is a Senior Editor of books for kids and teens with Allen & Unwin, where she’s worked since 2000, first managing submissions, then as an editor for eleven years.
Elise has won the FAW Barbara Ramsden Award for Excellence in Editing, judged the Aurealis Awards, served on the Express Media Board, completed the Varuna Residential Editorial Program, participated in events like KidLitVic, Writers from the Intersection pitching day, ACAF and Melbourne Writers’ Festival, and contributed (modestly) to the organisation of Homecooked Comics Festival since its inception. She is Melbourne Manager for Allen & Unwin’s Faber Writing Academy.
Elise works with some of Australia’s best-loved young adult and children’s book creators and comic creators, including Bernard Caleo, Mandy Ord, Gregory Mackay, Trace Balla, Craig Phillips, Michael Camilleri, Leigh Hobbs, Roland Harvey, Freya Blackwood, Elise Hurst, Andy Joyner, Kim Kane, Gabrielle Williams and Mac Park. It is both a joy and a privilege.
Elise will be contributing to a panel discussion on Australian Comics Publishing and offering Folio Reviews on Saturday during our Creator Development Day as well as offering Folio Reviews on Sunday on our ACAF Market Day
